Building a project...

I use Unity 3.4 and when I finally build my project I get all of my resources hidden in some .asset files. I want to seperate my scripts, models, animations, sounds, so that when I want to make a small change, let's say to a 3D tree model, I won't have to re-compile the whole game, and the end-user won't have to download the whole game again, just for a little graphic or sound bug. Is it possible to seperate my resources, them being visible and editable post compiling?

As far as I know this is not possible. You would have to rebuild your project everytime you change something. You might want to have a look at the ObjImporter which can import *.obj-files at runtime. Another way would be to store - for example - models in AssetBundles and load them at runtime. Then you would just have to rebuild an AssetBundle if the model was updated.

What about PostprocessBuildPlayer.pl script for customizing the package? Won't that work?
