Unity on linux

https://twitter.com/#!/BrianFargo/status/202036889350451202

We have been supplied the source code to Unity for the express purpose of making the Linux version.

Is this true?

According to their Kickstarter, yes: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2/posts/228226

After talking to Unity about this, we found they’ve already been working on a Linux port, so Unity is supplying inXile the Linux port alpha source code. InXile will work with Unity in order to port Wasteland 2 to Linux.

Sounds like Unity Technologies was already working on a Linux port.

Sounds like the Wasteland people will be porting their game specifically, which might imply they'll be helping with the overall engine port, but probably does not mean they're directly responsible for it.

Past that, I'm not sure what sort of confirmation you're looking for. I don't anticipate anyone on this website will be able to directly vouch for those statements, but I don't see any obvious reason to doubt their veracity. Certainly people around the net are pretty excited about it, so I imagine we'll hear about developments as they're available.

Hi,

We are launching our very own crowdfunding campaign for our company Protos Eyewear to crowdfund custom fit eyewear made via 3D printing and we would love your help and support in any way, shape or form. Kickstarter no longer allows eyewear so we have to work extra hard to get the word out. If you would like to write about our compelling project then please check out our crowdfunding press kit page here: http://protoseyewear.com/press

We would be forever grateful if you shared our project with your readers, friends, or whoever you think would be interested as we prepare for our launch!

Sincerely,

Xavier Protos Eyewear
