"Unity Package Manager Error"
@okcompute_unity Any idea how to fix this "Unity Package Manager Error" for Unity 2018.1.0b11?

Updated: There is a know bug in Windows Defender Beta preventing Unity from starting. Are you or your company in the beta program?
Here the workaround for the problem that was given to us by Microsoft:
The recommended workaround for anyone who does hit this is to revert the antimalware platform to the version before the Beta. From an elevated command line prompt: %programfiles%\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -resetplatform
Hope this solution resolves the issue for you!

Hi @AshwinTheGammer , I'm really sorry I'm no shader expert. I forward your question to someone in the graphics $$anonymous$$m.

Pascal
I've had the issue multiple times before and recently, but every time it happens (after a couple of weeks) it seems to resolve itself somehow.

@okcompute_unity I have the same problem. It started a few days ago. By then I was using the unity 2018.1.0 b11. Had no problems earlier. downloaded the 2018.1.0 f1 version but still no luck
Hi @Pohare,
I got reports that people using a proxy got trouble again starting with b11. These people did not had the proper HTTP_PROXY
and HTTPS_PROXY
environment variable set. Could this be your situation?
Can you copy the content of your editor log file? (https://docs.unity3d.com/$$anonymous$$anual/LogFiles.html)
Do you see a file named upm.log
in the same folder? If yes, please provide the content of this file too.
Regards,
Pascal
@okcompute_unity I am not sure I know about HTTP proxy variables. Could you explain a bit about this.
Also I Started a new thread as I wasn't being able to upload the files here
Thank you
If you don't know about these, it is probably because you don't have proxy configured in your work environment. It must be something else.
Can you submit a bug ins$$anonymous$$d? It may be easier for you to post logs and other artifacts to us this way. (https://unity3d.com/unity/qa/bug-reporting)
