Doom/Wolfenstein 3D-style targeting system. Detect enemies in camera view?
Hey!
I'm trying to make a shooter in the style of the old Wolfenstein or Doom games, with only horizontal aiming. I also want to have the type of targeting system those games had, where the game automatically detects the right enemy to target.
I've been trying to do that with spherecast and capsulecast, but that sort of thing wont work on enemies that aren't on the player character's height level. I think the best way to get around that would be to target enemies based on their position inside a certain area of the camera view.
Something like that...
Do you have any sugestions about how to do something like this?
