Prefab instances reverting to their default values upon play.
I asked this question a week or so ago but apparently I did not word it correctly which is frustrating because I know how hard this is to explain so I will try again more carefully. Here goes:
To try and save myself time and trouble I created just one power-up prefab and set it up to where all I have to do to make copies of it have different effects is to adjust their values in the inspector. For example, if I want to place a power-up that causes the player to behave like rubber, I simply drag a copy of the power-up prefab into the scene and then adjust the values accordingly in the inspector. The problem is, after I hit play each copy of the power-up prefab reverts back to the original prefab values. To be clear, I do not want all copies of the power-up prefab to have the exact same effect, so it's not an issue of overrides, it's the opposite. Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated and I will be glad to provide you with screenshots or any other info required to make my question easier to understand. Again, I can see why my question might be easily misunderstood because it is difficult for me to put into words. I hope to that I am not coming off wrong, my intentions are to help people help me and not to be rude.
