Question by RossHopkins · Aug 06, 2018 at 05:42 AM · navmeshbaking

My navmesh baking incredibly slow, only 1 terrain (2000 x 2000), settings at 1 voxel per agent radius. Help

I cannot seam to find any information on this topic. Ive been googling for hours and played around with nav mesh baking for at least a year now. For some reason I hear people all the time talking about navmesh baking only taking seconds but for some reason even when I only have one terrain tile in my scene it takes hours and hours and hours basically I have never had it finished and Ive let it bake for a whole day before. Any clues? I can give more information if you kindly ask. Please and thank you for your help!

I'd advice to start with a smaller terrain (e.g. 100x100)

Try it out. check the time you needed.

Then scale it up slowly.

If the 100x100 already needs let's say 5 $$anonymous$$utes you can simply scale this up and predict at least 33,3 hours for the 2000x2000 mesh. (5 $$anonymous$$utes * 20 *20)

Try to optimize your baking on a small scale!
