Unity Remote iOS on a public WiFi
Is it possible to use Unity Remote iOS on a public WiFi?
I've tried Create Network for wifi sharing on macbook, but Unity Remote shows "Error while sending message to editor"

Should be able to on public wifi.. but creating an ad-hoc network will give you the best speed.

Were you able to connect to the network you created from your iOS device?
Also you might want to close Unity remote completely (hit home button twice and close it from the multi-tasking list) and try again.
I mostly use Unity Remote on ad hoc... have you tried updating? What version of Remote and Unity are you using?
Using OS X .. click the wifi icon and select "create network". Choose your name and security method, then you'll have a network which you can join from your iOS/Android device.
I haven't tried this on windows but it seems pretty straightforward: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Set-up-a-computer-to-computer-ad-hoc-network
