How can you allow an object to collide with a stationary character controller?
I've created a moving platform which acts as a rigid body and moves between two points. I want the character controller to collide with the side of it when stationary, yet haven't been able to find a way to successfully do so. And tips of suggestions would be much appreciated.
Edit: O.K. I understand I can make an extra collision box for the player or a raycast, however i'm not sure how I can move the player character based on the direction of travel of the platform.

I can think of 2 ways to do this:
(1) You can give your character an additional collider ( sphere/box/mesh ). Because you already have a character controller component, you'll get a notification about Replacing the existing character controller, or just adding the collider. Choose Add.
Now your platform (with rigidbody) will get OnCollisionEnter events with the new collider. You'll have to have some way of manipulating your character from the platform's script. You could handle this by sending a message back to the player telling him he's hit a platform.
(2) You can raycast from a point (or a few) on your character every Update to detect collisions with the platform's collider. It will take some playing around with the number and position of rays to get the collision accuracy you want.
Those are some fairly good ideas, although i'm not sure how I would be able to move the player in the same direction the platform... I have a few ideas, but i'll have to test them out. Thanks for the suggestions though.
