Baking Lightmaps and Atlasing
I have spent the last week, or so, chasing optimization in my sim. I have a very large environment and I am employing Occlusion Culling and Lightmapping. All good. I am looking into Static Batching now.
But I have been wondering about Atlasing objects. Creating Texture Atlas's so objects that have more than one material now have only one. I have found a very nice tool on the Asset Store for this.
But I'm wondering. If I am Lightmap Baking will Atlasing objects to one material have any positive impact?? If I am baking it all together in the end does it make any difference if I have created Atlas's??
