How do I make a object from position to position randomly and quickly in an array?

I built a space game and in it I have this fleet that needs to shoot, I built an object that constantly shoots projectiles at wherever Vector3 I define. But, because the projectiles, for some reason, take up tons of processing power (they are particle systems), I cannot give a projectile shooter to every ship in the fleet, thus, I want only a few projectile shooters to be constantly shooting but teleporting from ship to ship at random making it look like all the ships shoot periodically.
