Black Screen on Unity Startup
Help please.
Installed Unity 5.3.0f4 (32-bit) on Windows 10 machine.
When running the program the Unity splash screen appears and then the window opens but is black and nothing happens.
Screenshot below 
does this give you any hint on the issue? errors or missing files?
Thank you for replying. No, there's no indication of an error at all. It executes quickly and simply presents a black screen.
RESOLVED
Found a solution on another thread. Just tried it and works perfectly

i have fixed it jus write in run %APPDATA% and delete unity also unistal it from pc and reinstall it it should works :D
DIdn't help me. I have only packages folder and package.json file in there, nothing else.
Post #29 on the thread linked by @swanne will help you - the packages may be located in a different folder, which is specified in that post. Hope that helps - I had the same problem, and it did for me :)

what worked:
going and downloading an "older" version of Unity, which can be found on Unity's site:
I replaced my Unity Download Manager with the Unity 5.6.7f1 version, and then reinstalled Unity, and it worked fine!
what didnt work:
reinstalling Unity using the download manager on my system, after completely wiping it out
reinstalling node (as the home screen of unity is written in node)
neither of these approaches worked
