How do I add more script templates in Visual Studio Tools for Unity in Visual Studio 2017?
After editing the script templates for Visual Studio Tools for Unity (VSTU) located at Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Community\Common7\IDE\Extensions\Microsoft\Visual Studio Tools for Unity\ItemTemplates\CSharp\1033 I set about to create extra templates for e.g. scriptable objects and other useful things.
However, editing the vsix-files does not seem to help in order to get them to show up in the context menu when trying to create a new script from the visual studio context menu. Has anyone got this working, and if so, what did you do?
I know I can create new templates in Unity, that's not what this question is about. I want to be able to spend all my time in Visual Studio if possible :)
Side question, how can I create new script templates insde Unity?
Just add new ones as described here https://support.unity3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/210223733-How-to-customize-Unity-script-templates
