iOS texture size

Hello. I have 2 questions. Whats the maximum texture size i can use for IOS? Whats the maximum amount of texture i can use per material for IOS?

Im coming from unreal it was 2048x2048 back there. Thx.

i guess you can use whatever you want. im gonna use 3x 4096x4096 texture for my scene. is this ok?

2048x2048 is max for iOS, or at lease it was ....

The amount is what you want to add, I think max scene size on iPhone 5 is around 500mb before it crashes on loading.

Thank you. Do you know how many 2$$anonymous$$ texture i can use per model? Can model's material have 4x 2$$anonymous$$ textures?

Not sure, can't see why a model's material can't have 4x 2$$anonymous$$ textures.

But I don't know why you want that kind of detail on iOS?

I use only a few 2$$anonymous$$ textures on things like arms and weapons in FPS and on some LOD 0 models when close up but otherwise only 1$$anonymous$$ but cleaned and sharpened in PS$$anonymous$$

4096 for iPhone 4S and newer, 2048 for older (iPad 2 support is for 4K unless running an old version of iOS (5.0 I think)).

While Unity supports 8k textures, it does not appear that iOS supports this on any devices yet (though it's controlled with the driver so it may change later).

Do you think using 4096 texture or 4x 2048 texture better for mobile?

4096 is definitely better as long as you don't care about iPhone 4 and lower.

When sprites are all on one atlas, Unity can do some very aggressive batching which will reduce your draw calls significantly.

It also gives Unity more room to try and optimize the texture space by using convex packing.

Its not a 2d game. 3d game. and not using atlas textures.
