Project file could not be loaded - Root element is missing from MonoDevelop
Every time I try to compile in MonoDevelop I get this build error:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Data.Entity.targets: Error MSB4025: The project file could not be loaded. Root element is missing. (MSB4025) (Assembly-CSharp)
This started recently, it used to work fine, though I'm not sure exactly when it changed or what changed it. I also see an error saying that .NET 3.5 is not installed (http://kong.dreamhosters.com/grabs/MonoDevelop_2017-12-03_20-25-21.jpg).
I've tried a few steps:
Created a new, blank project file with a single, blank script in it. Still got an error.
Uninstalled Unity completely and reinstalled it. No dice.
Updating to the newest .NET framework. I was already up to date.
Googling around, but most similar errors are from Visual Studio and don't have a solution that I can figure out how to apply to my situation.
I can't get anything to compile now, which is kinda killing my productivity. :( Any help would be super appreciated, thanks!
