Procedural Object Placement in games like RUST and DayZ?
Hey everyone,
I just have a quick question. How do people normally do procedural object placement? Such as trees, rocks, crates, ect.. Im not looking for any code or anything, just genuinely interested in the technique. For example, rust has a predetermined map (It might be randomly generated to some extent but bare with me) how would they know where to place the resources and how would they respawn the resources?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
