Some objects in scene corrupted when upgrading project from Unity 3.x to 2017.x
I've recently started a new job as the developer of an immersive environment, which uses Unity for its interactive scenes. I've been asked to give the scenes a face-lift, and I've come across a problem with the older scenes created in Unity 3.x (I believe the exact version is 3.5.6f4). I've done a side-by-side comparison of one of the scenes in Unity 3.5.6f4 and Unity 2017.1.1f1, and it looks as though the scene hasn't been converted correctly. Here's a screenshot taken from the converted scene in Unity 2017.1.1f1;
Upon closer inspection, some of the transforms of objects haven't been set correctly in the converted scene (they instead have the default transform, located at the origin with no scaling or rotation applied). Furthermore, it looks as though some components have been moved/copied between others in the hierarchy; one of the objects in the scene should have a collection of child objects with a script attached on each one, but the converted object seems to have this script attached on the parent for some strange reason.
I don't know what to do as I haven't found anybody who's suffered similar problems. Please could somebody advise what has caused this and how to fix it please...
