How would I make an Operating System?

I'm trying to have multiple apps, that can be opened, minimized, and closed. I found a YouTube tutorial for a fade in / fade out animation on button click. This works, but I can't seem to make it so that I can have more than one app. The script doesn't work if it is in more than one thing. How could I do this, and how could I detect if a certain Item has been selected in a UI Dropdown, because I'm trying to make a dropdown that has 3 things: Start, Shutdown, and Settings. I'm trying to make it so that when you click on Shutdown then the application will exit. How would I do this? I'm not very good at coding, I'm more of a game designing person, so exact codes/scripts would be greatly appreciated. Also, just for information, I'm using Unity 2018.1.0f2 Personal.

You could use thei moder ui asset it is 20$ but its really good and will up your os and the way it looks.https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/gui/modern-ui-pack-150824. this really works and comes witha dropdown and script, of course for the buttons to work youll have to code setting shutdown and start for it to work but everytinhgis done for you except design. and for you to open an app you could use this plugin to play youtube and with simple c# you could code it to open different things via URL.https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/video/youtube-video-player-19138. Im trying to do the same thing as you and i found these to be helpful maybe we can work on these together?,There is asset store extension. Its called modern ui. Made by michsky,You should get only if youre willing to spend 20$.Michsky Made an operating system with here it is:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj49FM3Qhpw. And of course since this is an example youll need to do more coding but its simple to code a single website to open like youtube to open youtube here is a simple plugin https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/video/youtube-video-player-19138. and if you know how to code simple c# you should be able to make it open different things than just youtube.Im trying to do the same thing like this maybe we could help each other?@Fox_GAMING
