How to use Android native video player instead of unity player
I have a situation where I am trying to play a fullscreen video on my mobile app and it keeps crashing on my android device. It's running Android 4.4 and I suspect the issue is the built in Unity player so I would like to force the app to use the Android native player for testing purposes. I don't have any other devices running 4.4 so I don't know if it's a device or OS issue.
Here's the code:
if (fullScreen && (Application.platform == RuntimePlatform.Android))
{
if (mFilename == null)
{
return false;
}
Handheld.PlayFullScreenMovie(mFullScreenFilename, Color.black, FullScreenMovieControlMode.Full, FullScreenMovieScalingMode.AspectFit);
return true;
}
else
{
return videoPlayerPlay(fullScreen, seekPosition);
}
I'm using Unity 4.3.1f1.
The phone is a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4 .
