How do you get your game known?
Hello, I am about halfway through my current Unity game and while I love it and I personally think it has potential, my biggest worry right now is that il release it and nobody will know it exists and therefore it wont sell. Does anyone have any tips on making sure that people do know it exists? Thanks!

Unfortunately, there is no sure shot formula about this. The best which you can try is to market your app with the help of Facebook ads etc. and implement ASO Techniques to improve ranking.

All I can say is be persistent and post it everywhere you can, like itch.io, gamejolt etc.
If it's a great game and it's clear that effort has been put into it, people will like it and share it. It may take time, but you should be able to see the players growing if you keep listening to the community and updating the game.
(But obviously, if you're prepared to spend money, advertising will help, though I'd get some advice on how to effectively create marketing material)

Facebook, Twitter and social media in general can be great forums to get your work noticed.
Also I would suggest places like Greenlight on Steam and even Kickstarter (even if you don't reach a goal it will have created interest in your game)
Lastly never underestimate the power of a polished game. Make it the best you possibly can, all those extra hours finishing and tweaking a game will help loads.
