Is it possible to load Sliced Sprite (with .meta file) from OUTSIDE Packaged Data during runtime?
What I am trying to do
I want to make a 2D game with only 1 spritesheet (Sliced Sprite) in a Resources Folder. I then want to BUILD a PC Game and release it. After the file is released, I want to distribute additional spritesheets that are intended to be stored external to the packaged game.
These external spritesheets have a png and a valid .meta file that contains all the slice information.
I want to use something like Resource.LoadAll() to get all the sprites. Remember I can't use Resource.LoadAll because the file is external and not packaged up.
My Horrible Idea
Okay, because I have the .meta file, I GUESS I could write some code to do the split ahead of time and store the sprites individually using a similar naming convention and folder structure and then in script handle the sprites how I want.
I would like to avoid this if there is already a cool method of dealing with sliced sprites outside of packages during runtime.
Thanks
