Networking with a modem, without connecting to a server... Is it possible, are there any examples?
Hello everyone,
I'm just curious if it's possible to implement a game such that players can connect to each other over wifi without needing to connect to a server. If so how could I do this?
Is it possible to say, get a list of everyone connected to the same modem as I am?
(Extra details: For now I just want a simple game that'll tell me if there's someone already connected to the modem, or if I'm the only one. If so I'll Debug.Log("1 is the loneliest number") else Debug.Log("2 can be as bad as one" )

This is the question you are asking I believe. Peer-to-peer
Even so, were I to use a regular server is there a way I can directly talk to the modem?
(Ex. In game X I'm able to challenge nearby players based on whether or not we share the same modem. Can Unity do anything to check this or is all hope lost?)
