Does my unity 3 license carry on to Unity 4?
Hi there,
If I Have a license for unity pro 3 including the iOS license and I want to upgrade to unity 4. Do I just download the new version of unity and my licenses stay active or do I have to buy Unity 4 Pro and iOS licenses?
You can indeed upgrade your account with a discount but it will still be around 750$ I think. but if you do that you also need to upgrade your ios license. I dont know the price for that

If you already have Unity Pro and iOS Pro, when you upgrade to 4 you will need to upgrade both Unity Pro and iOS Pro. So your upgrade cost will be $750 for Unity Pro and $750 for iOS Pro.
Login to the store and enter your serial number, it will show you what it will cost to upgrade everything.
The upgrade from 3.x to 4.x is excessive, given the original cost of 3.x was less than half of the upgrade cost. I noticed that MS is giving it's tools away for free to encourage new developers to take their route... The fact that I "noticed" this should already be sending a signal to Unity3d that some of us aren't happy with the price hike.
