Am I able to use TextMeshPro in an asset I plan on selling on the store?
Like I said in the title I'm building an asset that I plan on selling on the asset store. My question is am I able to use TextMeshPro?
Even if someone answered this, would you really want to take legal advice from a random programmer?
Read the license on the asset in question. If you're still not sure, hire a lawyer to interpret it for you.
If you don't want to do that, then the only other thing to do is to play it safe and assume the answer is 'no'.
It's different because it's an asset bought by Unity. So, someone here might have a good idea.
$$anonymous$$aybe someone from Unity, specifically a lawyer from Unity, sure. But they are almost never on this site. It's mostly just other users of Unity.
By all means, hold out for an answer if you want. But if you end up in legal trouble, "a guy on UnityAnswers told me it was okay" typically does not hold up in court.
