Strange Artifact in sprite with additive material. Any ideas?
Hi Everyone, I'm using a sprite image, scaled at 100x100 and it seems to be working great, with one catch. I have this strange diaganal blue line (artifact) in the image. Any ideas on what it is?
I have scaled the sprite at 100x100 and am using a particles->Additive shader.
Also, I have plenty of other sprites that are scaled and additive in this scene...It's just this one that's the problem.
Thanks!
hedge you checked the used PNG? the line is fading out at its ends, doesn't look like a shader problem
I agree @hexagonius looks like a problem with the PNG. Not a problem in Unity.
Hmm...What would I be looking for in the PNG? I've attached a copy of it and I don't see anything strange, but it could be that I don't know what to look for. It probably fades out because the image fades out on the ends too... Also, I have used this in other scenes with additive and I haven't seen these effects...It's like it started happening all of a sudden... Anyways, I've attached a screenshot of the actual image, and I appreciate your answers @hexagonius and @Peysbubby
The link is broken, but anyway:
Open the image in any imaging tool that's capable of showing the color layers in RGBA. Check that portion for any strange pixels. $$anonymous$$y guess is, the image has an alpha channel with that thin line or even tiny dots. Since you're scaling that you so much it's possible that's why it's even noticeable. An easy prove would be to overpaint that area for a quick test. If that makes a difference it's color or alpha
Anyone have any ideas on this one? I'm stumped and need a solution by $$anonymous$$onday. :) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
