Sprites batching

Hello all,

I have a problem with unity sprites batching. Some information - I am making a 2D mining game (in UNITY 5.3.6). The game is about digging - at the start of the game, the game automatically generates via a script (using instantiate) a big underground for a player to explore/dig ores. For the sake of this example let's say 20x20. Now every ore has a script which enables it to take damage and be destroyed (meaning it has health and armor). Except for x and y coordinates, ores are identical. Unfortunately the ores don't batch together, which results in a tremendous amount of draw calls. Also, the material is not copied for each ore, it is the same for all ores.

So my question is, do you guys have any idea how to make them batch together (or how to generate them in a better way)?

I have tried making them static, using name tags, atlas packer, specific layers etc. Please help, I have been stuck on this problem for a long time and read a lot of guides, but none of them helped me unfortunately. Is it possible, that this problem is caused, because ores have health or can be destroyed? From the manual it seems, that is is possible to batch such objects.
