Can't modify any of my assets

Hey all,

Running into a problem. I can't modify any of my assets. For example, if I create a new material, all the settings are grayed out, and I'm stuck with the default material.

I am getting an error "Plugin connected but is not online. Please verify connection settings." Not sure if it's relevant.
