First step to deploying a multiplayer game?
I am making a VERY simple 2D (Final Fantasy 1-3 graphics) snowball fight style game. Super easy. I currently have the networking all functioning properly for 'localhost', and when I open 2 built .exe's, set one as host and the other to connect as client, they both function and smoothly update exactly how intended.
Now I want to connect over the web. I want to host a server from my Windows 2012 Server, which also runs WAMP to provide as a fun free game for members of a gaming community I organize. I will only need one instance (server to connect to), but want it to be easy for clients to just boot and load into the game.
With this all said, what is the best way to make this happen from the state I have my project in now? (If not explicitly difficult, I would like the clients to connect via webGL so they do not have to re download the game manually if I fix bugs. I was told by another dev 'giving up UDP shouldn't be a problem' for this project.
