Unity Personal for one day fun in a big organization?

Hi I know about Unity Personal and Pro. I work in a big organization (more than $100.000 profit a year) and would like to make something with Unity for a day or two. Whatever we'll make is only for fun and will not be published or made money with in any way.

Is there a free version of Unity to support that?

As long as you stay under the profit threshold of Unity Pro, you can use Unity Personal as much as you want. Since you don't publish, there is no profit, so just use Personal.

Well, i wouldn't be so sure about that statement. It's also not about profit but turnover which is something different ^^. A company can make zero or negative profit (so they pay more than they receive) but still have a turnover that's greater than 100000.

Apart from that it doesn't matter how you earn the money. It doesn't have to be related to your work with Unity at all. So I'm pretty sure that you would have to buy Unity pro in such a case. However, this is only true when the company itself uses Unity. If you as employee are developing a tool in private at home it most likely wouldn't count, as long as your company don't publish or sell that tool.

Of course, even when the use is illegal, if only used internally chances are pretty low that UT comes along and sue you. But if your company also works officially with Unity pro you shouldn't even think about using Unity personal inside your company ^^.

$$anonymous$$eep in $$anonymous$$d that this is just my interpretation. Don't take my word on it. Laws are different from country to country. Ask a lawyer is you want for sure. You can also contact the Unity support, but you should describe your situation more in detail. I mean things like where you use Unity, at work or at home, ...
