Making Portal-Like Objects
Hello, I am working on a project to learn about making portals in Unity. So far I have figured out how to teleport my player through the portals.
Anyways, my problem is viewing the portals correctly. There's a camera from each portal facing forward. I then apply the camera view to a Render Texture. And then I apply that Render Texture to the opposite portal giving it a portal-like perspective.
With what I have now, the portals look 2D, and have no depth. Here's some pictures for what I have. The 2 portals are directly across from each other.
The portal view should change relative to the Main Camera view. I just don't know how I would go about doing that. Thank you. If you have any questions just ask.
Have you tried making the portal's camera rotation be the same as the rotation of the main camera?
Yes I have. That won't work because the portal cameras should also relate to the main camera position.
