Best way to do this
Welp
Typed an essay here about my problem and then my eyes fell upon the 'Keep it clear and concise' note. This is the edited version.
Introduction:
So let's begin. I'm making a multiplayer car game for Android. I basically have a list of cars in a global script (set up in the inspector) with each one having a unique ID. The player has to log into the game and it uses an online profile to store his information including the cars that he owns (as IDs). That's it.
The questions:
Could the IDs of the cars in my global car manager script (which is static data) be modified be means on reverse engineering?
How do other car games (or games in general) do this sort of thing (checking which cars the player owns)?
Note: I know that there are multiple ways of doing this but I just want to know the best practices.
Also: Thanks in advance.
