Cannot make a c sharp script.,Why can't I create a "C Sharp" script?

I am currently trying to make a c sharp script for my player but whenever I enter a name, no matter what name it says "A script called "RandomName" already exists at that path." What can I do?

If you still have this problem by the time I get home from work I'll try to reproduce the error and see what I can do. In the mean time just for the sake of troubleshooting, try creating an entirely new project that is empty. Create a script in the assets folder. Then create an object in the scene and attach that script to it. Then create a new script from the add new component button and see if it create the script. If it fails at any point before now then the problem is not local to your main project. It has something to do with Unity. If all else fails you can try to reinstall Unity though that is a bit drastic.
