Any hope for saving light probe information in prefabs or changing position?
I'm using unity 5.4 and I was successfully able to save lightmap information into prefabs using "Prefablightmap" tool which extract lightmap information and apply it to prefabs and it's working great. so when I instantiate a prefab all baked information are there regardless of the prefab position. but the problem is the light probes positions are read only. So I can't have baked light probes information at a different location from it was originally baked.
All I want is to be able to get the baked light probes information with position offset.
After reading so many posts I've found that to continue with my space shooter game I have to follow one of the following suggestions, and all of them are leading to other problems. So let me tell you what I have in my mind right now:
suggestion: Bake all possible locations of light probes.
Me: Well that wouldn't work, as my game is pretty large and duplicating the same piece of environment like 50 times to be baked in 50 times more time is a really horrible thing to do. Actually I tried that madness and I left my machine to bake with standard settings and atlas size of 512 for 15 minutes and it baked not more than 2-3 percent of total jobs.
suggestion: ok, how about fixing that tile positions or whatever that piece of environment in your level and reset the player/camera position to the beginning of that tile when you reach the end of it.
Me: of course thought about that, but the game has so many tiles and a lot of dynamic objects like bullets, laser bolts, explosions, power ups, physics base moving objects, particles effects, and so on... and I think it's pretty impractical to move every single thing in the game to the beginning of the tile while I can just instantiate another tile and continue everything normally.
Again: All I'm asking for is to be able to have the baked light probes information in a different position in my scene as much as I want.
