Unity Freezing when resizing panes
I bought a new laptop this year to game and dev on, and I've installed up to Unity 5.2.3f1 on it (64 bit.) Unity runs fine, not slow at all, comes up quickly, but if I ever try to move or resize a pane (e.g.: console, scene, properties, etc) Unity freezes up and I have to end the process and relaunch it. The only place I've seen people talking about freezing during resizing is for Linux, which doesn't help me. I've tried a few suggestions from a few other posts, such as fixing issues in the registry, reinstalling, making sure my graphics card driver is up to date, reinstalling Unity. I've also tried starting a brand new project from scratch to see if it was settings, and it still locks up. My desktop does not suffer from this problem.
So long as I never resize a pane it's not a problem, but being stuck with the panes the way they are makes it very difficult to be productive. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how to prevent it from locking up?
I've now updated to 5.3.1f1 and I'm still experiencing this issue. Nobody else has seen this?

I had to move a project to a new laptop-- an MSI Apache-- and I am experiencing the same problem. The project was created in Unity 5.2.0f3, and that is the version I am still using.
I tried creating a new project, I tried upgrading my graphics drivers, I tried reinstalling Unity, and I tried upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 10, and nothing has worked.
Please let me know if you find a solution to this problem. I will post here if I find anything.
Thanks.
Amazingly, I was able to resolve this issue-- I hope that this works for you as well.
The problem is an audio software called Nahimic-- it comes pre-installed on $$anonymous$$SI laptops. Exiting this problem caused the issue to resolve, and opening the program again caused the issue to start again, so I am sure that this is the solution for me.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
That worked! You are my hero, I was ready to throw this thing against the wall. Thank you so very much.
No problem, I'm real glad it worked out for you. What an odd problem to have.
