how / where to set up a server?
I have a finished multiplayer game finished with unity. right now it uses unity's free server. but now that the game is done i would like to either purchase or setup my own server. where i can either upload unity's server source code or possibly write my own.
Ive never set up a sever before and was wondering if anyone has recommendations on how or where to purchase. Or am i better setting up my router and PC at home for a server? any links to tutorials or advice on how to get me started on this task would be greatly appreciated!
I already tryed Photon but its too late in the development. I dont feel like spending months figureing out how to rewrite my code and figure out why and where all the errors are. I would prefer to simply upload unity's server scripts somewhere and simply point the game there!!!
Like i said, I am a newbee with setting up a server. so any directions or tips are welcome!
