System requirements needed for unity3d to work on PC
I have a laptop with Intel i5-460M Processor, 3 GB of RAM (Planned for an upgrade of 4 GB, so total about 7GB RAM), Intel HD Graphics and more than 1.5 TB HDD, with windows 8.1. In the system requirements page of the unity, I didn't find the needed configurations of PC required to run Unity3d. So thats why I asked here. Is my system able to run unity fine without any problem? I have a doubt about graphics. I have the integrated intel HD graphics in my system, DO I need another graphics card for unity to run smoothly in my pc. Thanks in advance.
For graphics card which you have specified to be Intel HD Graphics, which graphics card exactly do you have exactly?
1 - Intel HD - In Intel's Pentium G series and 1st generation Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs known as Nehalem / Lynnfield.
2 - Intel HD 2000 / 3000 - In Intel's 2nd generation Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs known as Sandy Bridge.
3 - Intel HD 2500 / 4000 - In Intel's 3rd generation Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs known as Ivy Bridge.
To be specific, core i5-460 $$anonymous$$ is the processor

Does it support DX9? Then it'll run. Will it run "smoothly"? That's subjective.

Unity will run on a mashed potato. The real question is will it run smoothly based on what I want to accomplish with it.

I need to develop games using unity in my PC without any problems. So I need to know what all components of my system needs to be upgraded, so that it runs smoothly and I can develop games using it.
