Do I have to reinstall Unity 5 as each new update is released or is there an update mechanism within the editor?

I am still on Unity 4.6 . I don't like to jump to new software versions immediately until early issues/bugs are sorted out. I see that Unity 5.1 is almost out and when it comes out I'll be jumping onto the Unity 5 bandwagon. Are updates still delivered the same annoying way where you have to download and reinstall the entire thing or do they have a new update mechanism within the editor itself. I've googled this but I can't get a clear answer.
