Beginning an underwater game
I have been searching for a while, but couldn't find any documentation of it. I want to make an underwater first person shooter. I was thinking about the character controller, and was wondering if you could edit the FPS controller script to allow for the character to move where ever it's facing, so if it's facing up, it'll move up. Also, maybe something like space makes the character go up, instead of jump.

Yes, you can edit the Character Controller script and make it do whatever you want.
"How to do it" is a very general question. :) Changing the Character Controller script to make it behave as though everything takes place under water involves a lot of steps. I think your best bet would be to have a sit down and really study what exactly the Character Controller script does to make the character behave well above water. After that, I think a lot of the answers you seek will come naturally to you, such as what you'll need to do with the vectors to change the jump to a swim.
I think you're right. I'm no expert, so this will be a learning experience, I'll work out what I can, but probable come back here when I hit a total block.
That's the spirit. :-D Feel free to come and shoot whatever's troubling you at the board. The more specific the problem, the higher the chance some expert will know what to do.
I might be wrong, but isn't there something like this already implemented in either the FPS-demo or the Island-demo? I remember swim$$anonymous$$g.. somewhere xD
