unity remote doesnt work on android but the game does

I recently purchased an Asus transformer tablet. I charged it and then attached it to my desktop to try unity on it. The remote ended terribly. The screen was cut in half and the half mark looked like a technicolor tv on the fritz. I then installed the game using build and run, and it ran fine and worked perfectly. How can i get remote to work like the install does? Or is that just because remote is not supported on my tablet?
