Unity 5.3.3f1 Stuck on "Updating License" - from behind authenicated proxy

I'm behind an Autheicated proxy and when trying to open 5.3.3f1 for the first time I enter my username and password, then chose my license (free) type. Then the box gets stuck on "Updating License" and never skips to manual activation process that worked with previous versions and should occur from teh documentation: http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/ManualActivationGuide.html
