One big scene camera movement?
I've seen a lot of games lately where where is no fade in between levels, no real transition that covers the screen when changing scenes, but rather the camera just moves from an existing level over to another level. How is this done? Is it by building you're game in one big scene and just moving the camera around it, or is there a more clever way?
I'm not a 100% sure about this, but maybe moving the camera offscreen then loading the level with the camera on the level away from the actual new scene, and then it moves in place so that it looks like its moving to a new scene? This is just a conspiracy theory hahahahaha

Doing the whole game in one scene will make it a mess. Not to mention that you will have lots of problems with memory and optimization.
Have you tried Application.LoadLevelAdditiveAsync? I did not have a chance to try it yet, but it probably can allow to achieve this effect. You just split your game on number of scenes and load them in the same scene as the game goes, not forgetting to unload old ones.
