iPod touch 5th gen launch screen

Using the new Unity 5.3.0 version I can show launch screen correctly on all iPhone and iPad devices targetting only iOS 8+ so we could reduce our core app size considerably by removing all the launch images.

However I can't seem to get the iPod touch 5th gen to show any launch screen. Did anyone else notice this problem? Is this a Unity bug?
