How do I get Unity/Salsa to read a multiple mic interface?,How do I get multiple mics from one interface to work in Unity/Salsa
Hello Unity, Let me start by saying your product, overall has been a smart, intuitive beast for us. I am working with a group at the University of Georgia and we have an installation coming up which runs on Unity. However, we’ve run into a slight snag just a week out before showtime. Our program requires us to run 8 separate live mics to characters we’ve built in Maya. We are using the Salsa 3-D asset to control the lip-syncing. However, it seems that we cannot make a multichannel interface operate within that asset. We have tried a 8 channel MOTU interface which uses old school firewire, a newer 4 channel scarlet which uses USB and a 16 channel Yamaha which also used USB. Every one of these items only show up as a singular mic in Unity/Salsa. Please tell me there is a script we could write to allow it to recognize more mic channels. I cannot believe this is a MacOS issue, as when we run Ableton Live or Logic it will recognize all channels of an interface. I have researched old threads about this issue but the conversations are from 2013. I figured there must be some sort of workaround created since then.
Thank you so much for making such an amazing product and we’d really love to hear from you as soon as possible.
