Unity Crashes after Deleting Imported Packages

This might be specific to NGUI, but I doubt it. I want to remove NGUI from my project. Just deleting it from the folder doesn't work because Unity will not open after this. Is there a specific "remove imported library" button that I'm not seeing?

Are there any objects in your project that are referencing the deleted package? If so then there is an error occuring. Unity compiles when loading up. An error in the compilation will prevent Unity from starting.

I suggest opening the project in $$anonymous$$onoDevelop/VisualStudio and try compiling it from there and see if you get any errors regarding NGUI.

I have found that deleting the path "Library\ScriptAssemblies" can resolve issues where Unity fails to open after removing scripts. Obviously always backup before removing files like this.

There didn't seem to be anything referencing or using the package. I deleted the package from within Unity (rather than the folder in Explorer) and that worked. Not sure what was going on

You should always create, move and delete assets using Unity because it maintains a database of your projects assets. This is important because objects are associated by GUIDs which become broken or invalid when you perform such actions using Explorer, Finder, Ter$$anonymous$$al, etc.
