Import Animated Textures/UV's into Unity
Hi gang, I am looking for a way to be able to import animated textures/UV's from Cinema 4D into Unity.
I am aware I could animate textures with scripts within Unity, however facial animation is a key part of this project and I'd like to be able to do it in an animation specific program, tied to the rest of the animation clip. The technique I want is something similar to Animal Crossing, a texture sprite sheet of separate poses that are swapped out.
a while ago I read of someone who did something similar using joint scale animation as a workaround (unfortunetly I cannot find source). Is there some kind of script where I could have unity interpret something imported as the driver of UV animation inside of Unity?
Btw I am an artist aka a hack fraud and use Playmaker, minimal coding knowledge. Anyway I've scoured Unity answers and searched endlessly on google, perhaps I do not know the specific term for what I am looking for, but I cannot find answers.
Attached below is an example from Animal Crossing, showing the way I want to animate textures.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks.
