Is there a way to make a box display a URL or HTML code?
hey huys :)
i was wondering if there was a way to make just a simple GUI Box display a HTML script or a URL as opposed to clicking a button that opens up a browser.
Im an LUA coder and if you can understand this..this is what i mean :)
Its modified LUA for a game called Garrysmod.
function ShowHelp() local GM = GAMEMODE local URL = //enter a URL here local File = //enter the directory to a file (usually a .txt) containing the HTML code
GM.HelpMenu = vgui.Create("DFrame")
GM.HelpMenu:MakePopup()
GM.HelpMenu:SetMouseInputEnabled(true)
GM.HelpMenu:SetPos(75,75)
GM.HelpMenu:SetSize(ScrW() - 200, ScrH() - 200)
GM.HelpMenu:SetTitle("EG Stranded Help")
GM.HelpMenu.HTML = vgui.Create("HTML",GM.HelpMenu)
GM.HelpMenu.HTML:SetSize(GM.HelpMenu:GetWide() - 50, GM.HelpMenu:GetTall() - 100)
GM.HelpMenu.HTML:SetPos(25,25)
GM.HelpMenu.HTML:OpenURL(URL)
--[[
as you can tell above, you can enter a URL to laod the html from, you can enter a directory to a text document to load the html or you can code it in yourself.
]]
end
i was wondering if there was a way to do this with unity. i know how to make it open up a browser window so if it cant be done just say no :)
oh also, the OpenURL in this version of LUA doesnt open a browser..it prints it into the panel.

sorry im having problems logging in :(
but its not OpenURL its SetHTML.
OpenURL only opens the URL to the page, SetHTML opens the text file or you code it yourself.
