How can I make it so that I don't see the camera icon when working in my scene view?

Disable the gizmos. There should be a drop down bar for the scene view called Gizmos. Click on it and then uncheck the camera icon.
Got it. I unchecked the gizmo. You need to uncheck the icon

Now go on and check that right answer button. It makes me feel good inside and helps the community :)
Will do as soon as you specify to uncheck the icon, opposed to the gizmo :) (Although it is still under the gizmo menu)
You can reduce the size of the gizmos.
