Any other ways for instantiated prefabs to reference game-objects in the scene?
I know about gameobject.find and gameobject.findobjectwithtag, but I was wondering if there are other or better ways in doing this. I've read this link (https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/135209/how-to-store-references-to-scene-objects-in-prefabs) to help me find ways, but I dont understand about "Store the reference to the object in a global variable (a public static variable of an appropriate class) so all the instantiated prefabs can access it." as said in the topic. Does this way apply to gameobjects in the scene or just variables? A visual reference would be nice.
PS: I already spent quite a bit of time searching the internet, but was not able to find any help or better understanding.
