Question by ikavinda · Jul 04, 2014 at 06:21 AM · gameobjectcarscaling

game object gets messed when scale reduced

i have a 3D car model which has a rigid body attached and it has wheel colliders and mesh colliders to keep the car up the ground. it behaves normally when its scale is equal or greater than 1. when scale reduced its wheel go up the air. i have uploaded the two scenarios i encountered. alt text

Above is the object without its scale is reduced. it works perfectly.

alt text

Now its scale is reduced and wheels have gone up. wheel colliders keep the vehicle in ground.

any advice to solve this problem?

I face this problem before... is probably cause by the animation. I don't know the proper solution for this and I forget how I fixed it last time. You can try on these things and maybe some will work.

  1. Put the car into an empty game object and scale the game object ins$$anonymous$$d of car itself.

  2. Set the model scale factor to 1 then only adjust the game object scale. (I think this is how i solve it but not sure)

  3. Use the model scale factor to control the size ins$$anonymous$$d of adjusting the game object scaling. But this will make every car with the same model have the same size.
