Ugui how to use alpha ETC1

Unity 5.2: Android: ETC1 Compression for Sprite Atlases. The texture is split into two RGB parts (second part containing alpha information as a grayscale) and combined in the shader. The option can be set on a per texture level, which affects the final atlas the texture lands in

  • Can ugui be used? How to use?

Hi buddy, UGUI can use alpha ETC1,Please check follow steps: 1.Ensure you have switched to android platform 2.Ensure building setting has used the don't override option 3.UI element use sprite should notice that you didn't use sprite tag for sprite packing,if you use sprite atlas, the material shader could be UI-Default(doesn't have _Alphatex property ) Only Sprites-Default (serials)shader has _Alphatex Of course i think this could be UGUI's bug, you could modify the UI-Default shader(add _AlphaTex like Sprite-Default but i don't recommend this),Then use yourself script ,like Image/RawImage,The official said there has a API sprite.associatedSplitAlphaTeture

Yes.Of course! Please follow these steps: 1.Ensure you had switched to Android platform 2.Ensure you did not use the 'don't override' option in 'Building setting' 3.Ensure you used the right textureImportsetting type and do not use the sprite packing tag (this could be a bug) ref:Android: http://issuetracker.unity3d.com/issues/ui-etc1-plus-alpha-not-working-on-ui-images-when-the-used-sprite-is-with-packing-tag-set ref:http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/etc1-alpha-feature.350184/ If you have a good idea to modify spriteAtlas material(shader) or Image/Rawiage script before Unity fixed this bug, please toch me. 1329257381@qq.com or lingua_1@126.com
