Supported TextureFormat for Texture3D?
For a DICOM-Viewer, I need 3D textures with TextureFormat "RHalf" or "RFloat". However,
Invalid texture format for Texture3D
UnityEngine.Texture3D:.ctor(Int32, Int32, Int32, TextureFormat, Boolean)
UnityException: Failed to create texture because of invalid parameters.
UnityEngine.Texture3D..ctor (Int32 width, Int32 height, Int32 depth, TextureFormat format, Boolean mipmap) (at C:/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/generated/common/runtime/TextureBindings.gen.cs:589)
I'm pretty sure my Graphics Card supports the Pixel formats, I've used them in other engines (Ogre3D).
What are the supported TextureFormats for 3D Textures in Unity? Why are most formats not supported? When will they be supported?
Could the Unity Devs please also answer these questions in the documentation? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong pages, but I expect to find it on the Texture3D or on the TextureFormat pages.
P.S. Using Unity Editor 5.3.1 Personal 64bit.
